Free Damayan Legal Clinic at the Metro Baptist Church
Two weekends ago, Damayan arranged our regular and free Damayan Legal Clinic at the Metro Baptist Church in Manhattan, New York. Damayan allies and pro bono attorneys from the New York Legal Assistance Group (NYLAG) and Eisner Dictor & Lamadrid, P.C. Attorneys at Law provided free labor and immigration consultations to our community members.
Furthermore, Damayan Worker Leader and Board Member Alma presented an Immigrant Rights presentation to attendees. Lydia, our Damayan Case Manager, also facilitated the Damayan Orientation and the Case Management System and Workflow Orientation. Being a low-wage worker should not hinder justice. By offering free legal consultations and transparent processes, Damayan ensures that justice can be for all. Through our legal clinics and orientations, Damayan empowers workers to fight for their labor and immigrant rights!
